Inquests and public inquiries

Our lawyers have substantial expertise in the preparing for and participating in inquests, particularly high profile inquests involving the media.

Recent cases include the inquests concerning the deaths of Terry Lloyd, the ITN War Correspondent, killed in Iraq, the Diana Inquest and the Baha Moussa Inquiry.

We act for parties and also for media organisations whose journalistic material is sought by Coroners and the Chairs of Inquiries. We are fully versed in this specialist area of law, providing swift and expert advice on the rights of parties and also third parties, particularly where there is a conflict between Article 10 and other rights.

We are flexible in meeting our clients' wishes: we can provide strategic advice which may be confined to a particular issue, we are happy to remain 'behind the scenes' and we are prepared to act in emergency situations and adhere to short deadlines.
