PressLaw is a new service provided by SM&B, operating within the Libel, Privacy and Reputation team.  

The aim is to provide a fast and effective 24/7 advice and assistance service to individuals and organisations alike in matters relating to journalism and the media via our email address mail@presslaw.co.uk. 

We can respond to emergencies requiring immediate action, such as police requests for journalistic material and raids on media premises and journalists' homes, within hours of being instructed, and arrange urgent hearings in the Crown Court where special procedure material is seized or is sought by the police.

The PressLaw team also provides a range of information programmes from roadshows to tailored in-house courses to communities, commercial organisations, journalists and the media.
