Libel, Privacy & Reputation

Our team has vast experience in libel, privacy and reputation management and represents both media and non-media clients.

Razi Mireskandari and Louis Charalambous are highly ranked in this field and lead our team of senior and junior lawyers, including two former journalists, Stephen Shotnes and Gordon Clough, publishing expert, Martin Soames, and barrister, Lucy Moorman.  The team works closely together to offer a comprehensive service to a variety of clients, who include individuals, trade unions, TV broadcasters, newspapers and magazines, book and internet publishers.

We are pioneers in the field of litigation funding by way of Conditional Fee Agreements and After the Event insurance.  We are one of a handful of firms to which Temple Legal Protection Limited (one of the most respected insurers in the market) has given delegated authority whatever the subject matter of the dispute.  For further information see litigation funding and insurance.

Unlike many firms, we combine experience of representing clients who need to protect their reputations, commercial confidences and private lives with working for major publishers providing clearance and litigation advice about what they can publish.  We believe the skills and insight we have developed in this way are a massive benefit to all our clients.

Chambers and Partners 2011 says, "This firm is really carving out a name for itself in reputation management and defamation, impressing clients with its astute advice and top-quality service" and we are recommended for our client service; "The firm's attentiveness is fantastic, and their turnaround times and availability are spot-on."

We provide a rapid, round-the-clock advice and assistance service to individuals and organisations alike via our PressLaw unit (email mail@presslaw.co.uk).  The PressLaw team also provides a range of information programmes from roadshows to tailored in-house courses to communities, commercial organisations, journalists and the media.  For further information about PressLaw, visit PressLaw.
