Richard Baskind

Richard Baskind is a specialist in contract law and commercial negotiations in the music and wider entertainment industries where his clients range from artists to songwriters to chefs and fashion designers, from producers to record labels and music publishers.

Richard joined SM&B as a partner in August 2011 when the Edge Legal team joined forces with SM&B. Richard trained as a lawyer at law firm Herbert Smith and also spent time working in-house at BSkyB. From there he moved to law firm Theodore Goddard where he worked in the Entertainment and Media group. In 1998 Richard joined Eatons solicitors. Eatons subsequently merged with Mishcon de Reya where Richard worked in the Media and Entertainment group for just over three years before setting up Edge Legal Limited with David Glick in February 2004.
